I'm Nicolas Videla. I build systems that scale.
I've been building software professionally for over nine years, working across fintech, AI/ML, and enterprise applications. What drives me is solving hard problems — whether that's designing an API that handles a million records per second or helping a team ship a product they're proud of.
My path has taken me through some interesting challenges: founding an anomaly detection team at a payments company, leading frontend migrations at scale, and building event-driven architectures with Kafka. Each role taught me that good engineering is as much about communication as it is about code.
I believe in pragmatic solutions. The best architecture is the one that works, ships on time, and can be maintained by the team that inherits it. I'm happiest when I'm mentoring engineers, bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders, or diving deep into a gnarly system design problem.
When I'm not coding, you'll find me reading, playing guitar, or camping. I'm always open to conversations about technology, team dynamics, or interesting projects.
